More Teacher Wear

You probably thought I had exhausted the Button Covers. Noper. Got more. Like these (woven with leather):And these (painted stoneware-like):
Really. These were VERY trendy. Worn on a denim shirt with leggings or stirrup pants. If you were a teacher, they were an essential. I remember wearing them to posh places on Sunday morning for brunch. Like to Cafe Latte (St. Paul, MN) which, by the way, is still a great place to dine. With friends. Sens button covers. It is a great accomplishment for an establishment to outlive a trend.

I have knit longer than knitting has been trendy. I was knitting before (and after) button covers! Go there.

Teacher Wear

For those of you who remember, button covers used to be totally stylin'. My Husband asked me to "go through a coupla boxes" while he is out of town. Gives me something to do, I suppose (aaahhhahahahahahah!). Well, I did. Go through the boxes.

I found these nice horn button covers:
And these nice mismatched gold-tone button covers with jewels:These were essential teacher-wear items. In 1988. It is hard to believe that these treasures have been packed away with the ornamental Halloween, Gardening and Christmas sweaters for all this time. Oh, and with the STIRRUP PANTS!
