Knittie and Foodie

Well, I am just bubbling here . . . and knitting from all ends of the house . . . I am focused on working on my "work" mittens and I have started a pair of "whew, I gotta put this down for a minute and relax and knit" socks. I used a new-knitting-knowledge two-end (kind-of) cast on from Nancy Bush's Estonian Socks Class (at Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat 2009) to start these socks, so they have a little bit of knitterly interest, otherwise, they are my regular plain sock.

And, then there was a little whompey stitch waaaaaayyyyy down on the K3P1 cuff of the socks (for My Husband) that I started with the STR yarn from BMFA, so I did not rip. Repeat, I did not rip. I just took that one stitch down about 14 rows and un-whompey-ed it, picked up the "dropped" stitches and wahlah! I fixed it.

That's my report for the day . . . I am watching ALL of the cooking shows on TPT and not really listening until something that I think is interesting comes on, then I missed the "good" part! They all have websites, so I can easily retrieve my missed information. Like I found when the woman added the pasta to this on "Gourmet: Diary of a Foodie":

and the pasta turned PINK, I was sssoooooo interested!

Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat

My last blog entry indicated a failure to secure My Camera before My Husband exited the country. I did; however, download my Mahdrooohna pictures . . . or upload? Whatever.

Some of the photos are private because they have important people doing or who did things (like knitting) that I paid a lot of money to partake in and do not want to share with the whole blogger world.

Others are photos that anyone could take if they saw what I saw when I saw it.

Like the coolest picture of a Sock Monkey at Blue Moon Fiber Arts booth after a LOT of shopping in the marketplace:

Either the monkey did a lot of shopping or I did.

And, A very nice message in my first class of the weekend:

Sens Camera

Aargh! I just realized the following:

1) My Husband will not be home for over one month.
2) He has My Camera.

I was going to take a photo of my recent project(s) and did a big "duh". My Husband took My Camera on his trip as his camera went to service. Gratefully, he discovered his camera was not working prior to his leaving. I sacrificed mine for his.

Is there some story about cutting her hair and selling his watch that comes to mind?

Love That Man. No photos, tho!

Long Time

I have not blogged for a bit . . . there has been a lot of busy-ness in my life in January. I ripped through January like a Snicker's bar. Well, if I ate Snicker's Bars, I would definitely down one in three large bites.

So, I am up early getting My Husband readied for attending a funeral. This means that I listen to all of the people stories and the connections surrounding the people. And, I know he will see all of the people in these stories today. He just has to say them out loud.

While I was listening, I found this on pepperknit's blog while hovering on Ravelry:

2×2 hat
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay
Color: 105
Skeins: 1
Needles: US 8
Cast on 108, knit for just over 5 inches, then started decreasing. Did in multiples of 12 to start, and worked a blank row (no decreasing) between decrease rows until there were 5 stitches between decreases. Then I picked up the pace and decreased every round, til there were 9 stitches. Drew through, and called this baby finito.

I was searching through free patterns and upping them to my "Library". What a wiz. I just don't know how to save this one in my library . . . I'll get to wiz on that later.
