Have been wanting to dye some yarn with birch leaves . . . we have a variety of trees in our neighboring park. So, this was the day!
I was going to take a photo of the yarn before dyeing . . . and this magazine happened to be waiting on my bench! This is the yarn (above photo) before color!
Heating the birch leaves (below) over an open fire "pit" that My Husband crafted.
The result! I was sorely disappointed as I was cooking the yarn on the stove . . . it was coming out a murky, dull, brown-grey-green, but after rinse, rinse, rinse, soap, rinse, rinse, rinse--an amazing, bold, bright green!

Great color. My Morehouse merino is this color; yours is prettier.
Finally catching up -- Love the colour Miss Susan -- project plans? inquiring and procrastinating minds want to know. S.
